Twin girls are born in Israel in August 2020. Their heads are connected. The girls cannot see each other. A team of doctors plan a special surgery. They will separate the girls. It is the first such surgery in Israel. They plan it for one year.

In August 2020, twin girls were born in Israel. They never saw each other because they were joined at the head. Last week, they could look at each other for the first time.

A team of experts from Israel and other countries spent a year planning a surgery which would separate the girls. It was a complicated surgery, and the team used 3D and virtual reality models to plan it. Doctors performed this surgery only twenty times in the world, and it was the first time that they did it in Israel.

One-year-old twin girls saw each other for the first time following a complex surgery to separate them at Soroka Medical Center in Beersheba, Israel.

(Bayi kembar perempuan berusia setahun saling melihat untuk pertama kalinya setelah sebuah operasi rumit untuk memisahkan mereka di pusat kesehatan Soroka di Beersheba, Israel.)

Conjoined at the head, the twins were separated in a 12-hour procedure, involving dozens of experts from Israel and abroad, who´d spent a year planning the surgery. The team used 3D and virtual reality models to plan the procedure that was the first of its kind in Israel. Months before the surgery, doctors inserted inflatable silicone bags into the girls’ heads and periodically expanded them to stretch the skin. The new skin was then used to closed the girls´ heads after the skulls were reconstructed.

(Kembar siam di kepala, kedua bayi berhasil dipisahkan dalam 12 jam prosedur operasi, melibatkan banyak ahli dari Israel dan negara lain, yang menghabiskan waktu perencanaan selama setahun.
