Philippine Airlines has filed for bankruptcy protection in the US with a plan that helps the country´s main airlines recover after the pandemic devastated global travel.

(Maskapai penerbangan Philippine Airlines telah mengajukan perlindungan kebangkrutan di Amerika Serikat dengan sebuah rencana untuk menolong perusahaan penerbangan utama negeri itu setelah pandemi menghancurkan perjalanan global.)

As a part of a survival plan set on Monday, the airline said that it would return 22 of its jets to lessors and postponing delivery of new planes on order. The airline is now pursuing financial restructuring that will cut two billion dollars in borrowing and raise new money. However, the airlines doesn´t expect a recovery to pre-crisis levels of business until 2024.

(Sebagai bagian dari rencana penyelamatan yang disusun pada hari Senin, maskapai akan mengembalikan 22 pesawat kepada penyewa dan menunda pengiriman pesawat-pesawat baru. Llamas have an antibody which is called a heavy chain antibody, and it is much simpler than human antibodies. Therefore, it is possible to take a small part of it and put it together with other proteins like building blocks. Studies showed that this method worked for several variants of the virus, including the dangerous delta variant, too.

Llama antibodies can soon be playing a role in the global fight against COVID-19 if clinical trials live up to their early promise. The trials are being conducted by a Belgian biomedical start-up.

Researchers from the Flemish Institute for Biotechnology and Ghent University Center for Medical Biotechnology are saying that antibodies from a llama named Winter have blunted the coronavirus infections in lab testing. The technology wouldn´t be used to replace vaccines but rather to add to them, helping to protect people with weaker immune systems and those hospitalized by the virus.
