Jinwar is a village situated in the Kurdish area of northeast Syria. Women moved here because of war and domestic violence<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
(Jinwar adalah sebuah desa yang terletak di daerah Kurdi di timur laut Suriah. Para wanita pindah ke sini karena perang dan kekerasan dalam rumah tangga.)<\/span><\/p>\n
The name Jinwar means \u2018women\u2019s space\u2019 in the Kurdish language. The village was built in 2018 and it consists of 30 houses. 20 families live in the village, but only women and children can live there. Men are not allowed to live in Jinwar, but they can visit their female relatives<\/strong>. Boys can stay with their mothers until they get married. The village has a school, a training academy, a bakery, and fields where women grow crops.<\/p>\n
(Nama Jinwar berarti ‘ruang wanita’ dalam bahasa Kurdi. Desa ini dibangun tahun 2018 dan terdiri dari 30 rumah. 20 keluarga tinggal di desa tersebut, tetapi hanya wanita dan anak-anak yang dapat tinggal di sana. In 2011, the civil war began in Syria, and women and children are the most affected<\/strong>. The women in the village work during the day and spend their evenings singing and dancing. They finally feel that they can live happy lives without control and rules from their families.<\/p>\n
